INVITROGEN LAUNCHES NORTH AMERICAN E-COMMERCE SYSTEM:
Successful Implementation of RNA Ordering System
January 26, 2004
In a large internal effort by Invitrogen Corporation, a new e-commerce system for their North American and Latin American audiences has been recently released. Hankins Consulting played key roles in this project. In addition to various supporting roles in overall project requirements gathering, architecture design, quality assurance testing, and code review, Hankins Consulting also lead the effort in the implementation of the new online RNA ordering capability for the new system. This new online RNA ordering capability marked one of the primary new features supported by the new ordering system which the previous system did not have.
This highly technical RNA ordering capability includes various user interface formats for ordering RNA oligonucleotides. The system performs extensive rule checking on the submit custom RNA oligonucleotides sequences to validate against a host of biological and corporate business rules. In addition, the system provides customer-specific real-time pricing for these custom products.
With the successful launch of this system for the North American and Latin American countries, Hankins Consulting looks forward to assisting Invitrogen in rolling out the new system to the rest of its international communities.
